Allow me to introduce myself!
My name is Kynnley Herrington of Caddo, Texas, serving Showpig.com as the intern for the summer! I grew up on a cow-calf operation involved in numerous extracurricular activities, from playing basketball to showing pigs. After graduating from Eastland High School, I continued my studies at Texas A&M University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Communications and Journalism and Agricultural Leadership and Development. Continuing my studies, I will attend TAMU for two more years, pursuing a master's degree in marketing.
At TAMU, I stayed involved with stock shows through the Texas Pork Producers Association, Showpig, com and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. As a junior ambassador for the TPPA and Co-Communications Director, I had the opportunity to travel to numerous locations across the country, advocating for a more sustainable pork industry. Communications followed me to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, where I worked as the Media and Writing intern, further sharpening skills applicable to my time at Showpig.com.
Previously, learning as a Personal Improvement and Growth through Swine Ambassador with Showpig.com, I was taught the importance of bridging the gap between the show and commercial industry. Traveling from Chicago to Missouri opened my eyes to the importance of traceability and biosecurity within the swine industry. I plan on using the network this ambassadorship granted me to market further on social media to promote this idea of growth.
Moving forward with Showpig.com, I am excited to learn, grow and expand my skills in a broader sense than before. I plan on exploring new ways to pursue digital marketing and further expand Showpig.com’s followership. With this group of ambitious individuals, the skills provided will not only expand my career professionally, but enhance the idea of family within the show industry. I look forward to meeting new individuals and inhibiting a welcoming face to anyone as needed!
